Shelter to Soldier’s 10th Annual Be the Light Gala
Shelter to Soldier hosted its 10th anniversary fundraising event at The Inn at Rancho Santa Fe on Saturday, Aug. 13 to continue its dedication to rescue dogs and military veterans in need through its psychiatric service dog, emotional support animal and therapy dog training programs. Guests had the opportunity to observe graduated service dogs as well as service dogs in training and interact with a team of therapy dogs and Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors.
Shelter to Soldier is committed to “Saving Lives, Two at a Time.” Through our life-saving program, veterans are given the valuable resource of an assistance animal during a time that they feel lost and alone. Shelter dogs are given a second chance and a purpose outside of the shelter much different than a past that has felt abandonment.
The Barnes Firm has been sponsoring three adopted dogs since 2020, in honor of its founder—the late Steve Barnes—and in recognition of his service as a US Marine Corps combat veteran in the Gulf War.
